In 1948, a full color, buttered potato appeared on Idaho license plates. Interestingly, the license plates of Prince Edward Island were the first jurisdiction in Canada to bear a slogan - it appeared in 1928, the same year as the Idaho license plates , and it also mentioned potatoes.
